Initially founded in Italy and Spain and now headquartered in Dubai, the studio has emerged as a global voice in cultural interiors. It is known for mixing old-world references with a contemporary outlook. Whether composing a stylish cafe with a coworking space in New York or curating a luxury boutique hotel in Riyadh, the spaces they shape feel emotionally attuned, deeply grounded, and truly cinematic.
“We think of interiors like choreography,” says Claire Ordovsky Tanaevsky, founder and creative director. “Each element has its own rhythm — a surface, a texture, a memory — and together they create a kind of spatial music.”
The studio’s design philosophy is rooted in juxtaposition and harmony: patterns meet stillness, bold materials soften into light, and local craft merges with contemporary detailing. From North America to the Gulf region, their work speaks a visual language where every texture makes sense and every detail has a story behind it. They are global in scope, but local and intimate in feeling.
“We don’t impose style,” Claire adds. “We listen to the place. To its history, its vibes, its potential.”
This year, Claire Dominics Buro was recognized as a Strategic Partner at Art Connects Women 2025, the largest international women-led art exhibition in Dubai. Besides supporting the event, the studio presented a sculptural piece, “In Search of Yourself” by Tatiana Latynina de Ordovsky-Tanaevsky, Claire’s mother-in-law. A layered meditation on identity, femininity, and legacy passed from generation to generation, the artwork served as both a personal offering and a cultural gesture.
The studio’s presence was not limited by the exhibition itself. Claire was also a speaker on a UNESCO-affiliated panel focused on empowering women’s voices in the creative economy — sharing her perspective on how curiosity, cultural immersion, constraint learning, and heritage research are at the core of truly sustainable and timeless design.
With projects stretching from the Atlantic Ocean to the Sea of Japan—including active work in New York, Mexico, Europe, Egypt, and the Gulf — Claire Dominics Buro continues to expand its international presence. It is guided by a mission to create beautiful, meaningful spaces, always taking into account the cultural context, and is driven by creative curiosity.
Among the studio’s recent works, there is a Riverpark project, featuring a pure, timeless American classic aesthetic. Inspired by Ralph Lauren’s signature design vocabulary — rich textures, tailored shapes, elegant contrasts, and heritage materials — the space incorporates bespoke pieces manufactured specifically for the project in coordination with Ralph Lauren’s team. While every project in the portfolio is different from the other and has its own voice and soul, the studio’s creative approach remains the same: elegance, attention to every detail, and emotional depth.
This balance, between intimacy and grandeur, between personal and collective heritage, defines Claire Dominics Buro’s projects. The firm is currently engaged across four continents, with a portfolio of different spaces: from boutique hotels to private villas, from desert resorts to penthouses. Each space carries a sense of duality: timeless yet up-to-date, tactile yet clean, artistic yet cosy.
For Claire Dominics Buro, sustainability is not simply a trend — it’s a way of building lasting beauty responsibly. Every detail is carefully studied, and every material is chosen for its ability to endure, resonate, be healthy for both people and the earth, and elevate.
Art is never pure decoration or an afterthought — it’s where the design process begins. From the very first mood board, it sets the tone, defines the emotion, and creates the atmosphere.
“We want people to enter a space and feel something they can’t quite explain,” Claire says. “As if they’ve stepped into a memory they didn’t know they had.”
